Employer pays 800,000 Baht compensation for Myanmar worker killed in Thailand construction accident

A Myanmar migrant worker who died in a workplace accident at a construction site in Thailand’s Chachoengsao province will receive 800,000 baht in compensation from his employer, according to the Office of the Labour Attaché in Bangkok.

The deceased worker, identified as U Naing Win, was killed in an accident at the construction site. On February 9, the Labour Attaché Office notified Thailand’s Department of Employment and accompanied a relative of the deceased to the local police station to assist with the necessary legal procedures.

During the coordination process, the employer met with the victim’s family members and agreed to provide 800,000 baht in compensation. The family accepted the offer, and the matter was settled amicably, the Labour Attaché Office in Bangkok said in a statement.
