In September 2001, the Asian Migrant Centre and more than 20 regional and national research partners in the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) initiated a collaborative action research project entitled, “Migration in the Mekong”. This phase of the research focused on mapping migration issues, needs, and responses in the GMS. The first resource book on migration in the GMS was published in 2002 as an outcome of that project.
