The Mekong Migration Network (MMN) presents a photo exhibition and multimedia documentary, in collaboration with documentary photographer John Hulme<\/a>, this Friday in Phnom Penh.<\/h4>\n

\u201cBeyond \u2018Tolerance\u2019: Living Together with Migrants\u201d is part of an MMN collaborative project examining the impact of social exclusion on migrants from the Mekong. MMN and photographer John Hulme visited Myanmar, Cambodia, Thailand, and Japan to learn from the experiences of migrant workers, migrant returnees, and migrants\u2019 families. The project documented the social exclusion many migrants face, including the challenges of reintegrating into society upon return to their home countries.<\/h4>\n

This Friday, 21 October, the photo exhibition and multimedia documentary, which capture some of the aspirations and struggles of Mekong migrants, will be launched and followed by a public discussion on the issue of enhancing social inclusion amongst migrant returnees in Cambodia.<\/h4>\n

Speakers include representatives of the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training (MoLVT), Legal Support for Children and Women (LSCW)<\/a>, Mekong Migration Network (MMN), and documentary photographer John Hulme.<\/h4>\n

We hope that the event and exhibition will help generate broader discussion on what needs to change so that we can go beyond \u201ctolerance\u201d and embrace the friendship and contributions migrants bring to society.<\/h4>\n

The photo exhibition will be showcased in Yangon next week from 28-30 October with the opening event on 28 October from 2pm \u2013 5pm at Myanmar Deitta Gallery<\/a>.<\/h4>\n
