{"id":4859,"date":"2016-03-18T14:52:51","date_gmt":"2016-03-18T14:52:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mekongmigration.org\/?p=4859"},"modified":"2016-03-18T14:52:51","modified_gmt":"2016-03-18T14:52:51","slug":"call-for-application-asean-advocacy-training-4-8-june-2016-bangkok-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mekongmigration.org\/?p=4859","title":{"rendered":"Call for Application ASEAN Advocacy Training, 4-8 June 2016, Bangkok"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MMN is inviting applications to our ASEAN Advocacy Training, to be held from 4-8 June 2016, in<br \/>\nBangkok.<\/p>\n<p>There are 20 places available for the training, which is open to organisations from the Mekong<br \/>\ncountries which are members of the ASEAN, namely Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and<br \/>\nVietnam. There is no limit on the number of applications per organisation or country. The ASEAN<br \/>\nTraining will be a 5 day training (excluding arrival and departure dates) and will include one day of<br \/>\nadvocacy action.<\/p>\n<p>The objective of the training is to enable trainees to better understand how to advocate to ASEAN<br \/>\nand to stimulate action within MMN. Training will be practical in nature and focus on developing<br \/>\nadvocacy and analysis skills, as well as learning practical information about how ASEAN can be<br \/>\nutilized for advocating for migrants\u2019 rights. As such, the trainees will be expected to remain engaged<br \/>\nin MMN ASEAN advocacy activities for at least 6 months following the training. As the training is<br \/>\nalso a pilot programme, trainees will be expected to provide detailed feedback.<\/p>\n<p>Criteria for applications:<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Previous advocacy experience;<br \/>\n\uf0b7 A leadership role within their organization, for example, able to speak on behalf of the<br \/>\norganization, able to commit to advocacy action on behalf of the organization;<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Capacity to communicate and read in English;<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Commitment to actively participate in the training and follow up activities with MMN (at<br \/>\nleast 6 months);<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Passion, enthusiasm and commitment to ASEAN advocacy in a long term;<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Endorsement by their organization; and<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Ability to travel to other ASEAN countries.<\/p>\n<p>Please note that while application is open to non MMN member organisations, MMN member<br \/>\norganisations will get a priority in consideration, in order to maximize the chance of continued<br \/>\nengagement.<\/p>\n<p>Endorsing organisations must commit:<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 To provide support for the participating staff (e.g. time, equipment, information etc)<br \/>\nKey dates to note:<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Deadline for application : 27 March 2016, as we have received several requests to extend the deadline for application for the ASEAN advocacy training, to be held in Bangkok on 4-8 June 2016, \u00a0the deadline is now extended to 12 April 2016. We hope this gives enough time to prepare for those who are interested in participating.<\/p>\n<p>\uf0b7 Successful applicants will be notified by: 15 April 2016<\/p>\n<div>Please note that for successful applicants,<br \/>\n\uf0b7 MMN will cover the travelling cost to\/from your home country to Bangkok and local cost<br \/>\n(accommodation, food).<br \/>\n\uf0b7 MMN will apply for a travel insurance including medical\/accident coverage for the duration<br \/>\nof training.<\/div>\n<p>To apply, please fill the attached application form and the Memorandum of Agreement and send<br \/>\nthem to application@mekongmigration.org by 27 March 2016 (by 12 April 2016 as the deadline is now extended).
