A Certificate of Identity (C of I) issuing mobile unit will be set up in southern Thailand, Krabi, on 10 October, according to the Department of Labour of the Ministry of Labour.
For Myanmar migrant workers in Thailand, the C of I service has been provided in four provinces, including Samut Sakhon, Samut Prakan, Surat Thani, and Chiang Mai, as of 6 August 2025. The department said that a C of I station has been in operation in Samut Thani in southern Thailand at present. Workers in the province have been found seeking the C of I service in Samut Sakhon and Samut Prakan, adding burdens the workload of the stations.
Therefore, a C of I mobile unit has been planned to be established in Krabi to provide efficient C of I services for Myanmar migrant workers from Phuket, Phang Nga, and Koh Samui islands in southern Thailand.
